When Bonnie released clue #3, I started to panic. I was already so far behind. Would I be able to finish in a timely manner?

However, what clue #3 did give me was the opportunity to once again dip into my stash of swap fabrics. This time the luscious, vibrant green strips. They are going to be gorgeous set off by the neutrals.

At this point I need to interject just how much I appreciate that my phone has a calculator. Using Bonnie’s measurements, I was able to calculate exactly how many strips I would need and how much waste there would be.

I have been quilting for over 20 years and I freely admit that half square triangles intimidate the fire out of me. The thought of making chevrons and the bonus triangles has my insides quaking.  There just hasn’t been time this week to give them a try.

Today I gathered with a group of ladies who have a sit & sew group. They very generously invited me to come and stitch with them. Since I was the newbie, I was able to focus on actually sewing and, drum roll please, I finished Clue #1! Yay me!  That’s a LOT of tiny little squares.

For Clue #2 I just need to square up my hst’s. It takes time and lots of it.  One of the ladies from this morning showed me this neat little ruler. The Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer. Takes half the time to square these little things up and there’s two in the package.

In other quilty news, I have not had time this past week to really do much sewing.  Life has kept me busy, but I intend to rectify that. I would like to have at least part of Clue #3 finished by Friday.

Linking up with Bonnie over at Quiltville. Be sure to check out some of the other creative’s blogs and see their progress.
