I hope this holiday season finds you hale, hearty and full of good cheer. May your lives be blessed with peace and plenty.
The last couple of months have been busier than usual so I haven’t touched my sewing machine as often as I would have liked. On the upside, I did get some time with my new serger in order to make my daughter a princess dress.
What I did finish this month are these beautiful Pony Club blocks . They still need squared up and the papers torn off, but I love, love, love how they turned out. In fact, I wish I had more of the fabric because I would make an entire quilt out of them. The fabric is a retired Moda 1930’s reproduction print. I found it a little quilt shop in Shiner, Texas a couple of summers ago. The owner had gone to Moda’s clearance sale and scooped up dozens of OOP prints. Moda was cleaning out their library because they were running out of room. They decided they only needed a yard of each print in their library and sold off the rest.

I’m writing this post Christmas Eve morning and I have several things planned today. Some celebratory, some not (like cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms, UGH). There has been a picture floating around Pinterest and Facebook this season showing a Christmas Eve activity box. I decided to do one spur-of-the-moment. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby and found this chest on sale. Perfect!
Since it was spur of the moment, and not planned well, I had to make do with a few things I had on hand. But the contents include:
- New Christmas jammies for Junior,
- A book,The Greatest Christmas Stories of All Time: Timeless Classics That Celebrate the Season
- 3 packets of mint flavored hot cocoa
- 3 wooden snowflakes to decorate
- Package of HEB Candy Cane sandwich cookies,
- Frosty the Snowman activity book
- Home Alone DVD
- How the Grinch Stole Christmas DVD
- Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes

I have decided to include in my weekly Finish it Friday post a link back to a Pinterest board. Because it’s Christmas, it was rather obvious what it should be. Enjoy the pins, and I hope you’ll follow me.

Thank you! There really is nothing like Moda fabric. Little Junior loved the Christmas box and I plan to make it a tradition. Do you have a blog that I could check out?
