So this last couple of weeks has been incredibly busy with getting Junior ready for school, designing quilts, and just general housework. I did manage a Friday Finish, though! Yay, me! It’s just a top, but given how crazy life gets, I’ll take it. I don’t have a title for it yet, so if y’all have any great ideas, leave them in the comments.

I received several 2 1/2″ squares in a 1930’s fabric swap. I saw a picture of quilt very similar to this one so I just had to duplicate it. The nine-patches went together very quickly and I managed to have the quilt mostly finished in a weekend. It wasn’t until I got home and photographed it that I realized I had made an error in the layout. So I frogged the borders off and there it sat for the last couple of weeks. I’m getting tired of having UFO’s lying around, so today I grabbed this one up and added a few more nine patches and here is the finished top. It’s a happy quilt to me. If you click on the picture, you will be able to see the butterflies in the third row.

Updated 9 Patch

It’s Friday, so it’s also time for the weekend challenge. What do YOU want to accomplish this weekend? Do you have any plans to sew?  Share your weekend progress on my Facebook page. I would LOVE to see what you’re working on.

My weekend plans are to join my friend Grayson at her church to help with the 100 Quilts for 100 Kids program she is hosting over the next three Saturdays. Tomorrow we will be cutting and sewing the blocks together.  I also hope to finish up a few of the IQBS blocks that are seriously overdue.

It’s Friday everyone! Enjoy it!

Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts.

Blessings,
